Join us live from the Glasgow Science Centre as First Minister of Scotland and SNP Leader, John Swinney makes a speech on Making the Case for Scottish Independence.

In his speech, Mr Swinney, sets out what he says is a clear case, which demonstrates that independence offers the opportunity to improve living standards and ensure that Scotland’s vast wealth works for the people of Scotland.

Mr Swinney contends that for decades, Scotland has contributed significantly to the UK economy but has suffered due to economic decisions made in Westminster. At this SNP campaign event on Monday 8th December 2026, the SNP Leader outlines his belief that independence can ensure Scotland’s wealth delivers real, lasting benefits for people and communities across the country.

The First Minister makes the case that independence will provide hope for people and give Scotland the fresh start needed to chart a fairer and more prosperous future.
