This week, while Richard and Suzanne are off on a weekend break, the Full Scottish will be presented by Cameron Archibald.

Cameron’s guests this week are former Labour spin doctor, Simon Pia, theatre director and anti Rape Clause campaigner, Sarah Masson and Chris Stephens, SNP MP for Glasgow South West.

 
 

Simon Pia - Full Scottish

Simon Pia

Simon Pia has worked as a journalist for over three decades in newspapers and broadcasting (radio & television), covering current affairs, politics, arts and sport. The author of four books, he has also been asked to edit three.

Simon was the media advisor & communications director for the Labour Party at the Scottish Parliament from 2008 to 2012.

Since 2012, Simon has been a lecturer at Edinburgh Napier University and has continued to write for among others The Sunday Times, The Scotsman, The Herald and The Conversation. He is also a regular commentator for BBC, STV, ITV, SKY, and other international media, such as Al Jazeera, on politics, the Scottish and EU referendums and on media. As a speaker he has been invited, both as a journalist and lecturer, to present at a range of conferences, such as The Observer Ted X , several Holyrood conferences on politics and media, the University of Dundee, the Royal Society of Edinburgh and the inaugural IPSO UK public consultation.

 

Sarah Masson - Full Scottish

Sarah Masson

Sarah Masson graduated in 2015 from Queen Margaret University with a BA (Hons), 2:1, Drama and Performance. Since leaving Sarah has continued her work as a Director/Producer which has seen her work as; an assistant director to Joe Douglas on The Course of True Love by David Leddy, Producer, Press and Marketing and assistant to David Greig on Two Minute Manifesto which is toured Scotland, Director of Musselburgh’s Riding of the Marches Pageant and Researcher for Edinburgh Performing Arts Development.

Sarah was one of the organisers of Thursday’s “Scrap the Cap” anti “Rape Clause” demonstration at the Mound in Edinburgh.

 
 
 

Chris Stephens MP - Full Scottish

Chris Stephens MP

Chris Stephens, has been the SNP MP for Glasgow South West since 2015. He is the Shadow SNP Spokesperson for Trade Unions and Workers’ Rights at Westminster

Born in Glasgow March 1973, he was employed by Glasgow City Council, and as a Senior UNISON activist in the city, acted as a lead negotiator, and represented trade union members on issues such as disability and racial discrimination, occupational pension protection, and on equal pay matters.

Chris is a member of the party’s National Executive Committee, Convener of Glasgow Pollok Constituency Association, and Secretary of the SNP Trade Union Group, assisting in building the Party’s profile in the Trade Union Movement.

A proud Partick Thistle supporter Chris is a Firhill regular.
