Full Scottish – 03/05/2020

Welcome to the Full Scottish from our Cowcaddens Studio in Glasgow.

Full Scottish starts at 12:00 midday on Sunday 3rd may 2020

On the Full Scottish this week, Kenny McBride is joined by Professor Kirstein Rummery and PR and communications expert, Kevin Pringle to discuss the big stories in the news this week.

On Monday Boris Johnson was signed off the sick and returned to the day job just as the official number of UK deaths crossed the 20,000 mark.

In Scotland the media went into meltdown again over simple guidance that wearing a face covering when you were out might have some benefit in preventing COVID-19 spread and so it was now recommended to wear a face covering when you are in public spaces where social-distancing might be more difficult. Once again Nicola Sturgeon was the subject of attack for daring to offer different advice from that issued by the UK Government while at the same time being condemned for not using powers that are reserved to Westminster to do things differently in Scotland.

Today is World Press Freedom Day, and we remember all the journalists around the world who have been persecuted, imprisoned and killed, only for doing their job and telling the truth.

As usual, on the Full Scottish, you can expect intelligent discussion and in-depth analysis by guests who are pre-eminent in their fields.

You can also join in while we are live by tweeting with #FullScottish.
